Certificate Ceremony is hold for there is Hope in the Kitchen

348 trainees, who completed their trainings within the scope of There is Hope in the Kitchen (MUV) Project received their certificates in the organised ceremony.

348 trainees, who completed vocational training courses within the scope of There is Hope in the Kitchen (MUV) Project, which is carried out in partnership with  United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, Ministry of National Education, Turkish Employment Agency and Mardin Şükraan Association, received their certificates in the organised ceremony.

Ms. Ceyda Bölünmez Çankırı, Member of Parliament from İzmir, Mr. Bekir Aktürk, our Director General, Mr. Yusuf Büyük, Director General of Life Learning, Prof. Dr. Kemal Varın Numanoğlu, Director General of Vocational Technical Education, Mr. Nils Grede, United Nations World Food Programme Representative and Country Director for Turkey, Mr. Elnor Gasanov, First Secretary in Norwegian Embassy, Mr. Hasun Park, First Secretary in South Korean Embassy and Ms. Ebru Baybara, Chief in Şükraan Association participated in the certificate ceremony which is held in Ankara Atatürk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School on October 8, 2020.

We put Applied Training Programmes into practice

Mr. Bekir Aktürk, our Director General who informed the participants related to the studies of İŞKUR told that since 2019, as İŞKUR, they put Applied Training Programmes into practice in order that the beneficiaries gain experience by working in enterprises after completing vocational trainings in cookery. Mr. Aktürk said “In the first phase done in the last two months of 2019, totally 55 people were delivered Applied Training Programmes in Ankara and Istanbul. In the second phase of the project we aim that totally 600 people will be delivered 3 months programmes in 3 groups in Adana, Ankara, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kilis, Mardin, Mersin and Şanlıurfa provinces. The first group of 131 participants completed Applied Training Programmes successfully during July-September period.”

Mr. Aktürk told that he would be pleased with the continuation of the cooperation between İŞKUR and World Food Programme (WFP) and thanked to those who contributed.

We broke new ground with our studies and set forth a new model

Ms. Ceyda Bölünmez Çankırı, Member of Parliament from İzmir, who spoke in the certificate ceremony, told that in There is Hope in the Kitchen Project, vocational and technical trainings, applied trainings are together, and that set forth a significant model in this area. She continued: “We adopted a bipod implementation model in order to award “Cook Apprenticeship” certificate approved by Ministry of National Education with the aim of making a contribution of supplying intermediate stuff in tourism sector and fill the qualified job vacancy. All the participants, who completed three months vocational training gain experience through on-the-job trainings delivered in partner hotel, restaurant and cafes with coordination of İŞKUR. Through our study in this field, we broke the new ground and set forth a new model.”

İŞKUR serves as a bridge between labour market and us

Mr. Nils Grede, United Nations World Food Programme Representative and Country Director for Turkey said, “We increased the scope of the project to nine provinces by including Hatay and Mersin and we aim to extend the scope of the project in the future. As soon as the Covid-19 outbreak started, by a speed planning, we arranged our infrastructure, moved to an online platform, and ensured the trainings continue uninterruptedly. In this project, İŞKUR serves as a bridge between labour market and us. Within this period, they provide full support in conducting project process despite their work load.
