İŞKUR Delegation Visited Employment Service of Slovenia

İŞKUR Director General Samet Güneş and Deputy Directors of General Dr. Varol Dur and Mr. Oğuz Özdemir organised a study visit to Slovenia on April 24-26, 2024 upon the invitation of the Employment Service of Slovenia.

The visit was organised within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed with the Employment Service of Slovenia at the WAPES event held in Antalya on November 16-17, 2023. During the opening and welcoming session, Ms. Greta Metka Barbo Skerbınc, Director of the Employment Service of Slovenia, expressed her appreciation with the visit of the İŞKUR delegation and emphasized the importance of cooperation and sharing of good practices between countries.

Mr. Samet Güneş, Director General of İŞKUR, thanked the Slovenian authorities for the invitation to Slovenia and the organisation of the study visit and emphasised the recent decline in the unemployment rate in Türkiye, the strengthened institutional capacity of İŞKUR, the wide reach of İŞKUR services and the important work carried out within the scope of Job Positive to increase women's employment.

Following the opening speeches, on the first day of the visit, İŞKUR was informed about Slovenia public employment services strategies and the activities carried out within the scope of international relations.

Later, Deputy Directors of General Dr. Varol Dur and Mr. Oğuz Özdemir informed the officials of Employment Service of Slovenia about labour market research, job and vocational counselling, active labour, employment and unemployment insurance services provided by İŞKUR.

The aim of the visit was determining the framework of joint studies that would contribute positively to employment in both countries and strengthening the constructive dialogue between countries and agencies. Central and local offices of the Employment Service of Slovenia were visited their activities were observed on site.

The study visit ended as a result of the negotiations on enhancing the cooperation between the agencies and increasing the joint study areas.
