İŞKUR hands over the Term-Presidency of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Public Employment Services Network (OIC PESNET) to Morocco

The 4th Meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Public Employment Services Network (OIC PESNET), of which İŞKUR held the term presidency between 2021-2023, was hosted by the Moroccan National Agency for Promotion of Employment and Competencies (ANAPEC) in Marrakech (Morocco) on 29 February-1 March 2024.

More than 60 representatives from 20 countries attended the meeting where opening speeches were delivered by Ms. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), Mr. Younes SEKKOURI, the Moroccan Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Dr. Imane BELMAATI, Director General of ANAPEC and Dr. Varol DUR, Deputy Director General of İŞKUR.

In his opening speech, Dr. DUR emphasized the importance of OIC PESNET activities in terms of sharing information and experience among member countries and stated that İŞKUR is ready to offer its institutional capacity to the benefit of other countries by actively contributing to the activities in the following period as it was in the period when İŞKUR was the President of the network. Dr. DUR also underlined that it would be beneficial to concentrate on digital and green transformation and services for the employment of disabled in OIC PESNET 2024-2026 Work Plan.

Following the opening speeches, the presidency of the network was handed over from İŞKUR to Moroccan National Agency for Promotion of Employment and Competencies (ANAPEC). After the handover ceremony, the Employment Expert Mr. Eser EROL made a presentation informing the participants on the trainings organised by İŞKUR within the scope of OIC-PESNET 2021-2023 Work Plan.

Within the scope of the meeting, Dr. Varol Dur answered the questions by giving detailed information on the supports provided by İŞKUR to self-employment projects for disabled people in the panel titled “Entrepreneurship as a Lever for Economic Inclusion and Sustainable Development”.

The meeting ended after OIC PESNET 2024-2026 Work Plan had been submitted to the participant countries for approval and their opinions had been received.
