Ethiopian Delegation Visits İŞKUR

Ethiopian Delegation, alongside the World Bank representatives, visited the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) on 30 April 2026.

Mr. İbrahim Oğuzhan Yıldırım, Deputy Director General of İŞKUR presided the meeting in the scope of the visit. In his speech at the meeting, Deputy Director General Yıldırım stated that he appreciated the Ethiopian Delegation's visit and that he believed this visit would support the parties to benefit from each other’s labour market practices and develop joint approaches to fight against unemployment.

As part of the visit, which was organised within the framework of efforts to strengthen international cooperation and share best practices, comprehensive presentations were given on the general outlook of the Turkish labour market, the institutional structure of İŞKUR and the services it renders. In addition, the active and passive labour market policies, as well as the practices for jobseekers and employers were discussed.

During the meeting held with the delegation, policies aimed at addressing skills mismatches were also discussed. In this context, current approaches in skills development and the international agenda were also evaluated, and the importance of global platforms was emphasised through the international events held on April 27-28, 2026.

Furthermore, information was provided regarding the activities carried out under the GÜÇ Programme implemented in Türkiye, and the good practice examples aimed at enhancing the employability of individuals were shared.

Through such international contacts, İŞKUR aims to increase the sharing of knowledge and experience, strengthen its institutional capacity, and improve the effectiveness of employment policies.
