German Delegation Visits İŞKUR

As part of the process of signing the joint “Declaration of Intent” and “Memorandum of Understanding” aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fields of labour and social policy between the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German Delegation visited Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) on May 15, 2026.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of İŞKUR Deputy Director-General İbrahim Oğuzhan Yıldırım. At the meeting, Deputy Director-General Yıldırım expressed his satisfaction with Germany's participation in the OECD Skills Summit, co-hosted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and İŞKUR, with a large delegation and high-level representation. Mr. Yıldırım also noted that the side event held as part of the summit offered an important perspective on vocational training. Furthermore, Mr. Yıldırım highlighted the importance of sharing experiences with the German Federal Employment Agency in relation to initiatives on vocational training, counselling and labour market research, which are to be incorporated into the action plan prepared by the Inter-Ministerial Joint Working Group.

Kirsten Neu-Brandenburg, who delivered the opening address on behalf of the German delegation, congratulated İŞKUR on organising the OECD Skills Summit and stated that, as the German counterpart organisations, they were open to all forms of cooperation.

Following the opening speeches, representatives from the German Federal Employment Agency and the Institute for Employment Research gave presentations on the activities of their institutions, while İŞKUR officials provided information on the activities of the agency and told the expectations within the scope of the action plan to the German delegation.

The visit concluded after sharing views and a question-and-answer session.
